Carter came over the other day!

I was so happy to capture a bit of this...too bad I couldn't get more shots, it was very funny. Nathan dove into the basket and this is what followed...

Marine Festival

This weekend is the Marine Festival in Nanaimo...aka Bathtub Race Weekend! Their was some music in the park yesterday afternoon, so Lucas and I decided to check it out. We only caught the tail-end of the children's show, so if nap time allows for us to try again today, we will! :)

That asphalt sidewalk was a built-in babysitter. It was so darn hot, there was no way Lucas was crossing it! He was a very good and mostly just sat beside me watching the show, eating, or playing with his stroller. If we end up going back to today, there'll be waaaaay more people, since it's a Saturday, so it just might not be as easy for me! Time will tell!

Week #2

Week #2 of our friend, Nathan...has come and gone.

The boys were on opposite schedules this week, so I was able to use just the one highchair. Lucas was always finished eating by the time Nathan rolled out of bed...but he sure did find it interesting to see what Nathan was eating...and may have even stolen a few blueberries. He was always sure to leave the ham behind...or give it to Finn.

A show-down with their 'lovey's'...there has been a few fights over 'Cola' the polar bear, and 'Bunny' the bunny. :)

And the vampire strikes again. Sigh. Playtime in the curtains turned into bite time in the curtains. This time, lower lip to chin. Doesn't he look impressed?

Ahh, look at those lashes, I'm so jealous!

Lucas now realizes it doesn't feel so good to crawl on the cement...so he bum scoots. Here he is, on his way to his new fun place...

The rocks! Pat let him play in them one day...now try getting him out of there!

This was at lunch, after the 'big bang' in the morning. The big bang, you ask? Yep, he flipped over the side of the chair and landed on his head. Yes siree. Head crash #1...
The kid can climb, and unless you tie him to your leg, he's making a run for the couch or chair. Sigh. Needless to say, he did survive, but the bump became darker as the day went on...

Stair Climber

Lucas loooves to climb the stairs. In fact, if the gate is not up at the bottom of the stairs, he'll race up there at every chance he gets. This was recorded in early June, so he is much faster now!

New Bite

Our CD of pictures from our family photo shoot has finally arrived! Slowly, but surely I hope to put some up on here. Stay tuned. I can't say when, but hopefully soon.

I wish my good camera wasn't sick. I'm missing out on some good shots! Anyway, this last picture pretty much summed up Luc's afternoon. After a fabulous 3 hour nap, he had some lunch and was bitten right after he got out of the highchair. It was all downhill from there. Nathan went down for a nap and Lucas decided to race around on the his truck. He ran over his foot and wailed. He drove head first into the table and wailed. He now has a red mark from that on his eyelid. Once Nathan was up they were racing around and somehow Lucas got a cut on his heel. What an afternoon for my munchkin. He was so ready for bed by 6:30 and he just crashed.

I don't take back anything I said on last night's blog though :) He's such a little character. I just felt so bad for all the problems he suffered with today. Let's hope for a better today tomorrow!

Learning to Walk!

Guess who's finally deciding to test out walking?!? Well, along with climbing on EVERYTHING, chairs, couches, toy piano's, toy parking garage's, etc. I only have the walking video though! :) Enjoy!

Evening Dip

Ahh, I love the days when Lucas takes an afternoon nap. He gets to have dinner with us, and usually enjoy an after-dinner walk as well. He is so much fun at this age, it's great to be able to spend a tiny portion of the evening with him. It's a nice way to end the day when he's super happy.

Bedtime has also become so easy, it is a breeze 99% of the time. No fuss, no tears, just lights out for the entire night. Lovely. :) And that I've just announced that the world, it'll probably drastically change overnight....
(Update: As I am finishing up this post, after 1 hour of sleep, I can now hear Lucas doing gymnastic upstairs. LOUD gymnastics. No voice as of yet though. I really, really hope I didn't jinx things.)

Lucas is making new and exciting discoveries each day and we love to watch him take it all in. We especially enjoy the squeals of delight when playing tug of war with Finnegan, the giggles, the cheesy smiles, the kisses...and all the other fun stuff he does.
He loves to COPY everything he sees and hears....I 'sighed' the other day and he's been doing it ever since.
A new discovery...watching the dogs eat dinner. We realized tonight that Lucas has never really seen the dogs eat out of their dishes! Sure, he sees them grab a piece of kibble here and there, and have some water...but he's never really watched them eat dinner.

And boy was he fascinated! "What'cha got there, Lucie?"

I took Lucas in the backyard after dinner instead of walking...since we're having a heatwave :) After playing in the grass for a few minutes, I decided to take out the pool toys so I could rinse the pool out for tomorrow....

...and look who decided to jump in!!!

So what the heck...jumper off and here's your bath for the day...minus the soap!

That was one heavy diaper after getting out! :)

(On a side note...the picture quality may be compromised for the next few weeks. I'm back to my old camera. The reason...my Nikon, ahem, may have taken a leap off the table outside yesterday. *GASP* Very minor damage I believe, but nonetheless will be likely be shipped out in the mail for a visit to the Hospital for a small surgery. :(
