Early Birthday!

Lucas had a bit of an 'early' birthday surprise on the the weekend! Grandpa and Grandma Blakey, Uncle Allan, and Paige came over to say "Happy Birthday!"...and came armed with presents!

Here's Lucas....patiently waiting for Uncle Allan and Paige to arrive so he could start opening his gifts!
In awe of the size of that present Uncle Allan brought!!!

"It's a car mat, just like at school, Mom!!!!!!" Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!

Lucas and Paige devouring their cupcakes!

A tired boy.......who just haaad to test out his new sand/water table! Thanks Uncle Allan! We stuck to just the water part that day!

And that, my friends, was the beginning of the birthday festivities. Boooooo to me for not taking more pictures! Although, what adults really LIKE having their picture taken?

Stay tuned for the rest of the birthday celebrations....I'm going to need a whole lot of time for THAT entry!

Sad Baby Girl

Well, our mystery green eye goop is clearly contagious....likely Pink Eye. Little Miss M has been battling with it this week, along with a bad cold and on/off fever. Poor baby girl. She looks so sad. Her poor little eyes are SO red, with the skin almost broken and raw, from so much cleaning. I use nice warm water and a facecloth, but she's still looking pretty rough!

Post-nap eye goop and crusties.

Post-cleaning!

She looks as if she's been in a fight!

NINE Months Old

It's that time again!!! Anooooootheer month has gone by. I just wish I could freeze time and keep this baby girl small. She's growing up way too fast!

Not a very happy start to the day. She's sick, and not happy about it. There's something about my kiddies getting 'extra' sick around 9 months. Lucas had croup at 9 months, and now Maliya has a bad cold and potential pink eye. Well, it's SOMETHING gross and clearly contagious!
Getting better at her sitting!

Now there's a smile!

Pure sweetness.

My Assistant

This is my assistant. She likes to 'help' me cook dinner....
Ok, not really. The ERGO baby carrier is my assistant. It's only way dinner gets cooked some days. Babies who are getting sick need extra love at dinner time!

And the dinner of the day was....

Lemon Garlic pasta. Doesn't everyone eat their linguine like this?

Strawberry Girl

The sweetest little strawberry I'VE ever seen!

Our Little Sea Otter

Today was a big day. Our little boy 'graduated' from his swimming lessons. Not only did he graduate, he is now SUCH a big boy, that MOMMY doesn't have to go in the pool with him for the lessons! Today was our last class of the 8 week lessons, and the 'trial' of 'no-parents'. No problem for Lucas, he was SO proud! All morning at home, he was saying "I a BIG boy. I go wimming yessons aaaaaall by myself. Mommy stay home." Well, not quite. As much as he wanted me to stay home, he is still a bit young to drive himself there.....and get changed in/out of his clothes! Haha.

Asking to enter the water!

Getting set to do a front float!

Everyone is shutting their eyes for the treasure hunt!
Lucas found his 'treasures'!

"The parents on the bus say Sshhh, Sshhh, Shhh aaaall through the town"

Back float! This took several classes of Lucas screaming at the top of his lungs before he started to have some trust in us. Pat took him to the first lesson, and wouldn't go again due to said screaming, haha.

Playing "Fishie In The Middle" Each kid takes a turn going in the middle, while everyone else sings a song. The fish in the middle then has to blow bubbles to get free. They pick a fish of their choice. At this age, they are generally pretty outlandish fish. Lucas' fish choices are generally whatever was on his pyjama's that morning: Monkey Fish, Hockey Fish, Dinosaur Fish....you get the idea. The girls' fish choices are usually Princess Fish, or Pink/Purple Fishes. Nearly 3 year olds are too cute!

Very proud of himself for the big jump off the wall he just did!

And here's another!

"Alice the camel has FIVE humps..."

...now Alice has THREE humps. Lucas is trying so hard to figure out how to get his fingers to co-operate. We've been working on this at home, but he still struggles. It's so cute to watch!

Looks like a kiss, but Lucas is actually blowing his bubbles.

The usual reaction after putting his face in the water!

The kids looove playing "Sticky, Sticky Popcorn"

Lucas just loves Megan!

Haha, no, he's not drowning. It was time to go underwater!

So proud! Our little Sea Turtle is now moving along to be a Sea Otter! He's come a long way in the last 8 weeks! New classes in April!

Saturday Fun

It's been awhile since we've had a visit to Bowen Park. We had some sunshine, so we jumped on the opportunity to go!

In awe.

"You think I care where we are, Mom?"

Fun stuff!

Doesn't he look so innocent?

Maliya was FASCINATED with the ducks!

"WHYYYY can't I throw rocks and sticks in the pond?"

WIPEOUT!

Running through the forest!

She looks like she's having 0h-so-much-fun!

There's my happy girl!

Fascinated!

Learning!

Thrilled to discover a PARK!

Peek-A-Boo!

He loved ending off the day with a bubble bath in Mommy and Daddy's room! His first ever!
