Fever

Our tiny turtle has a fever of 101 F today. Who really knows the cause...he did wake up with a runny nose again today, but he had his immunizations the other day too. The nurse said they can get quite grumpy 7-10 days after...how about 4?
Or maybe he has a disease from the mysterious creature that attacked him in his sleep the other night and scratched up his face! Hmm...cat scratch fever? Lol.
Whatever it is, the tylenol seems to be helping...for the fever. The clinging and whining is still occuring...
He still wants to play though!

Mmm, ball.

An 'early' bedtime tonight? 5:30pm perhaps.

Our Week...

Wow, almost a week has gone by since my last entry! It must've been a long week of waiting for some of you (ahem...Mom)
A few days ago, I switched Lucas' carseat to forward-facing, so I was eager to see his reaction the next day! When I first put him in, he didn't really seem to notice, but when I got in the drivers' seat and turned around, he gave me a HUGE smile. Each and every time I turned around on the car ride to baby group, he gave me a huge smile. So, I think it's safe to say he enjoys facing the "right" way. He can see a lot more now and he's clearly enjoying looking out the window too!

Look at that sweet face.
Well, it didn't look so sweet on Thursday when he got his 12 month immunizations. YIKES! He had to get a total of 4 shots, 2 in each arm. YOUCH! I had to sit him on my lap, with one arm pinned in my armpit, his legs between my legs, and pin down the remaining arm while the nurse gave the needles. He was less than impressed with her...especially when she gave a sticker at the end. No sticker was going to make this boy forget that he just got stabbed 4 times for no apparent reason.
He was smiling and chatting with an 18 month girl in the waiting room just 5 minutes later...

Onto todays events...
It's SO much fun when Mom forgets there's a box of Kleenex on the floor and goes to do the dishes...
This, is Avery. He came aaall the way from Victoria with his Mom, Crystal, and Dad, Derek, to play with Lucas. Cute little Avery. He fell over while sitting and decided it was a great spot to lay down!

Oh Avery, big blue eyes, dimples...so sweet!

The boys heading out for a walk on a gorgeous sunny afternoon!

Eating yogourt on the counter in the late afternoon...looking awfully tired!

...and less-than-impressed. Time for bed!

Saturday Sunshine

Future child prodigy?
Hmm, what should I watch?

A gorgeous afternoon for a walk on the seawall and a play at the park with Louise and Alyssa

This is his "oh shit!" face! Heheh.
Change of heart, it's fun now!

Lucas can't keep his eyes off her...
Loving his naked time!

Saturday Fun

I loooove spaghetti for lunch!

Looks good on me too, doesn't it?

It goes with big brown eyes!

Do you like my artwork?

This is my "cousin", Maggie

My Mommy and I took her out for a walk today while Uncle Allan was working. She had a hard time sitting still for the photos. Perhaps we should've tried our photos at the end of the walk!

I love Maggie. I did a whole lot of giggling when she was with us! Too bad Mommy didn't have the video camera!

Fraidy Dog!

Ok, so I know this is a blog about Lucas...but I couldn't resist. For those that don't know, we had a huge storm here today. Extreme winds and buckets of rain all day. I think the wind started around 6am, maybe earlier...and from that point on, Lucie was a complete wreck. You see, not only does the wind scare her, she is petrified of the power going out. She knows that when the power goes out, the smoke detectors let out a few squeals...when it goes out, and when it comes on. Sure enough, around 9am, her worst nightmare came true...the power went out!
The video below describes Lucie's behavour...all day! The wind has now ceased, and so has Lucie. She has crashed....hard!
Being very cautious and staying clear of the windows! You never know Lucie, they just might smash right before your eyes!

Keeping her eye on the smoke detector. As you can see, the tv is still on at this point. This was moments before the power went out.

Oh my dear Lucie...what ever would you do in an earthquake?

One Year Check-Up

Lucas had his one year check-up with the doctor today! At birth, he weighed 9 lbs, and was 22" long. Today, he weighs 22 lbs, 13 oz, and is a whopping 33" long! Tall boy! Who knows where that comes from!?! He is in the 50th percentile for weight and 90th for height!
Oh~and on a side note, I am really enjoying the funny little things I see/hear Lucas doing lately. Today, after waking from his nap, he was chatting away with "monkey" and "bunny" in his crib. They were having quite a long, detailed conversation. I even heard him try and "hee hee, hoo, hoo, hoooooo", like a monkey does. (I often pick up his monkey and do that when I go get him).
Then, this afternoon, I took his socks off and put them on his head, and he tried soooo hard to get them back on his feet. Of course, he got nowhere near figuring it out, but it was so cute to see him try!
He was very fascinated by his diaper this afternoon!

I just had to include this picture again...he looks so scrawny! Especially when you see the next picture!
Hard to believe this chunker is the same baby!
